Types Of Flat Screen TV Mounts Available - How To Choose The Right One For You!
When you buy a flat screen TV the thought of which mount you will use probably doesn't even enter your mind. Yet aside from the TV itself the mount is probably the second most important item when it comes to getting the most out of your flat screen. There are many types of TV mounts available, from a simple one that you basically hang your TV on to a motorized, remote controlled mount. But before you can choose which flat screen TV mount is right for you, let's go over which ones are available and their differences.
Flat Mount the simplest one of them all, you simply hang your TV on it, much like hanging a mirror on a wall. In addition to it being very easy to install, it's also the cheapest mount available. The cons are that due to its simple design there is no movement, so you will not be able to adjust your TV's viewing angle in any way.
Swivel Mount very similar to the one above but as the name implies it can swivel, allowing you to adjust the viewing angle of your TV horizontally. So whether you are sitting in front of the screen or to a side, you can adjust the angle and see the best quality.
Tilt Mount the most complex of the 3, and the most expansive one, this mount allows for both horizontal and vertical adjustment. It has an arm of sorts that allows for vertical change in the angle, in addition to horizontal. Another con is that it also requires more space than the above two mounts.
There are of course many variations of these mounts, as well as some I didn't mention (ie. motorized mounts) however with this information you should be able to choose the mount that is right for you.
